Ingredients
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp cocoa
Preheat oven to 375 F
In a bowl, stir together butter & brown sugar until creamy. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir well until crumbly. Press into the bottom of an 8"x8" greased pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes until set.
Filling:
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
3/4 cup corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks.
In same bowl stir together the brown sugar and flour. Add the eggs, corn syrup & vanilla and mis until smooth.
When the base is cooked, take it out of the oven and spread the pecans and chocolate chips evenly over the base. Pour the filling over top and bake for 25 - 30 mins until puffed and golden. Cool in the pan on a wire rack.
